My editing didn’t gscripto great - I kept getting bogged down and confused, so I only just met the 50 hour target, and only got halfway through the editing process (I’m being optimistic there as well!)… I’m going to leave it alone for a while now, then come back to it hopefully fresh and more […]

Okay, here I am with two days to go until the end of National Novel Editing Month (NaNoEdMo) and I’ve still got 6.5 hours to go! I’ve done nothing on several days during the last week due to feeling a bit under the weather, and then last night I came down with a cold!
So it’s […]

This editing isn’t as much fun as the rough draft writing was! It’s been going slowly…
I started off with the idea of putting post-its on a wall and moving them around, but they kept falling off! So then I copied all that info into a spread sheet instead and shuffled the scenes that way, to […]

I finished the first pass of editing - rereading the rough draft, making notes on scenes etc. (numbered post-its) and some proof reading highlighting. I also made some notes about new scenes to put in, which will add another thread to the storyline.
The next step is to reorganise the scenes to improve flow, clarity, readability […]

Well I started on 1st of March, but didn’t write it up because my broadband was down, Thanks Pipex! - I’m moving from Pipex internet to Pipex Homecall, evidently two different organisations - it took me over a week to get a migration code from Pipex internet, then Pipex Homecall don’t use it & I […]

OK! I’ve just passed 61,000 words, and I think it’s finished… for now!
I’m going to have a think overnight, and another look at it tomorrow before deciding, but I think I might have finished. Though I could do an epilogue chapter…
Of course, there’s Editing Month in a week or so (i.e. starting 1st of March), […]

I passed 50K words last night!
OK it was a Saturday, so I had more time than normal, so I put in about 5 hours… but I’m now past the 50,000 word mark! The story isn’t finished yet, and I recon it’s taken me about 57-60 hours so far… I’m not the worlds fastest typist and […]

Just a very quick update:
I have been keeping up writing, making my normal weekday target 2,000 words. More at the week-ends. I’ve now passed 35,000 words! Because I’ve been ‘between jobs’ I’ve had more time on my hands than most people, but as I am also setting up a web based business I am still […]

Just a quick post about the novel writing project:
I’ve been a bit variable in how much time I’ve been spending each day, which isn’t ideal! Yesterday I did manage to write nearly 6,000 words! But I was at it most of the day, probably spending about 8 hours at it. Some time was spent looking […]

Having been ‘between jobs’ since 1st January, 2008, and after nearly a month of not doing much more than pottering around online… I have to write a novel! It’ something I have wanted to do before, but in previous attempts I never got beyond a few pages. So at the end of January I […]
